The company was founded in the USA as Blue Ribbon Sports in 1964, and few years later,
in 1971, it officially became Nike. Today it is a giant known all over the world for its athletic
shoes as well as apparel, equipment and accessories. Nike sports goods are so well known
that the company has decided to eliminate the logo and leave the brand only. Legend has it
that the first pair of shoes made by the founders of Nike was for Otis Davis, an athlete who
later went on to win two gold medals in the 1960 Summer Olympics.
