It will be this summer's cult garment, as it was heralded when Jennifer Lopez was photographed at an event wearing a pair of classic trousers and a milk white bralette. Dolce & Gabbana's corset features corsetry lines of the '50s, but in a patchwork style in which floral patterns are combined with polka dots and denim. Alexander McQueen chooses silk satin and cotton, and puts an end to the constraints of bones by using shoulder straps and stitching in contrasting colours in his models. Isabel Marant's off-shoulder bustiers with puff sleeves are made using plant fibres. Zimmermann's bralette is reminiscent of origamis due to its pleats and strap detailing: when seduction meets elegance. Moschino, on the other hand, shows the ironic side to it, as usual: bras and courtesans' corsets are printed onto T-shirts.
