Cut-Out trend
Dresses, tops and jumpsuits include slits or openings in the most unexpected places
A symbol of elegance combined with comfort, for this summer 2022 dresses also represent the sexiest garments after the cut-out versions that we have seen on every catwalk. Strategic slits and several kinds of cuts pop up in the widest range of looks, but the most widespread pattern are the cut out details on the sides. Like in the slightly gipsy style of the dresses from Zimmermann crafted from linen or light cotton with paisley prints. In his dresses and jumpsuits Jonathan Simkhai chose to cut the fabric in the middle of the torso and "framed" the detailing with rings or buckles to create a mini cut-out that reveals small sections of skin. Versace's dresses cover up to the neck but feature drop-like cut-outs in the décolleté area, in the middle, or on the shoulder for very asymmetric style. Like in the classic-tailored blazer with a cut-out on the side leading to an open back.
