Floral prints, wedge-heel sandals and straw purses

Summer sparks off the desire to wear floral prints and strong colours

On the catwalks, we have seen floral patterns reinterpreted in every model or kind of fabric. Starting with the ruched silk mini dresses from Magda Butrym, that reach the peak of glamour when combined with the wedge-heel sandals by Saint Laurent. Jill Stuart has chosen the length of a post-modern vestal for her fluffy voile dresses, the perfect match for sneakers or ankle boots. Pure white background and delicate pastel shades, like sky blue, light coral and candy pink, are seen in the wonderful caftans by Tory Burch, to be combined with Timeless Pearly turquoise and semi-precious stone earrings. The colours of water lilies and orchids are very vivid in Gucci's dresses where flowers are mixed with tigers and which are sported with jute totes of the same brand. The knee-length dresses by Dolce & Gabbana are wide and very light, feature flared skirts and are studded with lilies and cherries.
