Layer upon layer upon layer
To create a truly personal style, there is nothing better than the art of layering
Remember your grandmother's advice to «dress like an onion»? When celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Gigi Hadid do it, it is called layering, and in this way, you can tackle the last (hopefully!) cold days without sacrificing an outfit that speaks of spring. The recipe is simple to follow: start with a shirt, preferably white with delicate volumes, add a neutral-toned jumper, layer on a lightweight cardigan, and finish with a short jacket around the hips. Want to give it a try? The perfect shirt is offered by Victoria Beckham, made from organic cotton - good for the planet - with a well-proportioned cut and collar. As an alternative, there is Fabiana Filippi’s model crafted from lightweight and shiny cotton poplin, or the linear and severe option from Etro. For the next layer, the wool and cashmere jumper with a round neckline from Max Mara, or Tom Ford's cashmere-silk blend off-shoulder jumper. With the cardigan, the colours come into play: very light green (a seasonal trend!) in merino and cashmere from Dorothee Schumacher; vibrant red by Comme Des Garçons, and timeless black from Marni. Finally, the jacket: Gucci's black and white fabric bomber is super warm, while Dion Lee offers a lighter, grey model in a more ‘technical’ style. Defined by contrasting stitching and flat pockets, Brunello Cucinelli's stretchy black cotton model completes the look.
