Butter yellow, a neutral shade that shifts depending on the combinations, is a radiant alternative to classic white and has taken the fashion world by storm, starting in Hollywood. Ariana Grande wore a butter yellow Ralph Lauren dress in Wicked, and at the Golden Globes she appeared wearing a 1996 design by McQueen for Givenchy. And still butter yellow—once again Givenchy—was the choice for the tuxedo with matching shirt sported by Timothée Chalamet at the Oscars. It is no surprise, then, that practically all the major fashion houses have featured this shade in their spring collections. Among the many pieces, we loved the silk blouse with three-quarter sleeves by Chloé and the off-shoulder version by Isabel Marant. A completely different style, but in the same hue, is the structured shirt-jacket by Jacquemus. When it comes to knitwear, worthy of mention are the cardigans by Gucci, the cropped pullover by Jil Sander, and, for the romantics, the half-sleeved jumper by Lisa Yang. Butter yellow also takes centre stage in dresses: choose among the asymmetrical layered maxi-dress by Elisabetta Franchi, the slip dress with sleek lines by Twinset, or the one-shoulder piece by Staud.
