Virgil Abloh’s look

Not only the mega-hyped designer of the moment but also a style icon

He is one of the most eclectic personalities in the world of fashion. Born in Chicago thirty-nine years ago to Ghanaian immigrant parents, and an engineer with a Master of Architecture, Virgil founded Off-White and he is the designer of Louis Vuitton. He has subverted the rules of creativity with his style mixing casual with sartorial craftsmanship, as it can be seen in the outfit he presented in the 2019 CFDA Fashion Awards, and which we want to recreate in terms of mood and proportions. Jackets become shorter and turn into a hybrid between a crop blazer and a light vest, like those by Ann Demeulemeester and Thom Browne. Trousers are wide and soft, as proposed by Balenciaga and Margiela. Shirts come back to the group of neutrals, such as those by Brunello Cucinelli , and to complete the look, the basic tone-on-tone sneakers, such as those by Common Projects.
