From street style to haute couture. One thing we are sure of is that velvet will be a success this Fall/Winter season too. It is quite normal to see it even as daywear in soft 'bedtime style' pyjamas and jackets, like those presented by Layeur and Pieces, that reach their summit of glam when combined with the leather slippers by Gucci. They are also perfect with the palazzo trousers by Erika Cavallini, ideal as well for those that do not have gazelle-like legs. Diane Von Furstenberg's super-chic overalls seem to have sprung out of some vintage Italian 'white telephone' film, whereas the minidresses by Saint Laurent and Gucci are reminiscent of Pre-Raphaelite Gothic, sometimes combined with shorts for the former or made of embossed velvet embellished with rhinestones for the latter.
