The Brazilian brand Melissa has been making design shoes in plastic from 1979. Their first pair of shoes was inspired by the sea: the Aranha model is in fact a reworking of the sandals worn by fishermen on the French Riviera. Reworked according to Brazilian taste, they were an immediate success and are still the brand's highest selling product. In the last ten years, Melissa has sold around 32 million pairs of shoes, made of Melflex, a type of recyclable PVC that is 100% flexible and comfortable.
