Diane von Furstenberg began her dazzling career as a designer in the early '70s with the
aim of creating dresses that could exalt women's femininity. Her creations have become famous for their patterns and for the elegance they give to those whose don them: the Metropolitan Museum of Art has exhibited several collections by Diane von Furstenberg.
After launching an important line of cosmetics, the designer wrote an autobiography, remarried, founded a publishing house in Paris and became president of the Council of
Fashion Designers of America.
