Everything began for Edoardo Caovilla at the start of the twentieth century, with his decision to pursue audacity and creativity. In the 1950s his son René Fernando developed this concept and dedicated himself exclusively to making jewelled shoes, which transformed the Caovilla brand into the greatest expression of Venetian art in the luxury shoe market. Fabrics, embroidery, coloured stones and pearls are placed on three-dimensional designs by the expert hands of the artisans to create contemporary forms of scintillating appeal.
