Tailor Nazareno Fonticoli and entrepreneur Gaetano Savini opened their first Brioni tailoring shop in Rome in 1945. A few years later, in 1952, the brand was the central attraction at the first men's fashion runway show in history, held in Florence at the Palazzo Pitti.
