Welcome back to the vest: say good-bye to sleeves, and hello to panache

Long live knitwear in one of its most classic and versatile expressions!

A more than classic garment made an unexpected appearance on the spring catwalks: the vest. Be careful, though: no masculine references whatsoever, it is the knitted version that triumphs, cheerful and full of femininity, just like Emma Stone, among others, likes. Cormio offers a colourful and fun short sleeveless top, Marco Rambaldi wants it to be very tight, full of coloured hearts on a white background, while Pierre-Louis Mascia plays with intarsia patterns for the vest which seems to be made with leftover yarn, like grandmothers used to do. The Basket model by Vitelli is sustainable because it is made with upcycled materials; it features a crew neck with woven workmanship, front embroidery and distressed details on the bottom. Brunello Cucinelli's tiny and precious vest embellished with sequins, and looks as if handmade due to its 'perforated' design. And finally, the triumph of the sophisticated style is the vest crafted from powder blue cashmere with coloured edges and button fastening by Barrie.
